There’s something about Vienna after dark that just feels different. The city glows—warm golden lights on the Opera House, shop windows sparkling along Kärntner Straße, and the whole atmosphere buzzing with energy. It’s like Vienna was built to be seen at night.
For this shoot, the vibe was all about chic glamour. The model wore a satin dress that picked up every light around her—soft reflections when she moved, bold shine under the street lamps. It was the kind of look that felt effortlessly elegant and a little bit cinematic.
The Backdrop
We started at the Opera, and honestly, it felt like walking onto a movie set. The grand arches, the glow of the lights, the elegance of the space—it was impossible to take a bad shot. From there we wandered onto Kärntner Straße, where the mix of old architecture and modern boutiques added that extra layer of sparkle and sophistication.
The Mood
This wasn’t about playful moments. It was strong, confident, luxe. The kind of shoot where you don’t just capture someone in a city—you capture the vibe of the city itself. Vienna felt alive, and she matched it perfectly.
The Images
The final gallery has that dreamy mix of soft and strong: the satin dress shimmering, the city lights glowing, and a confidence that ties it all together. It’s Vienna at its most glamorous—and exactly why I love shooting here at night.
Some stories don’t need smiles—they live in the stillness, in the way the light wraps around you, in the quiet power of presence. This sunset lake photoshoot in Vienna wasn’t about being soft and playful. It was about stepping into a world that feels otherworldly, strong, and just a little untouchable.
The Vision
I wanted the images to feel like a scene pulled from myth—a lake fairy rising at dusk, carrying both beauty and power. Flowing fabrics caught in the breeze, the water reflecting every shift of light, and a gaze that spoke volumes.
The Sunset
As the sun slipped lower, the sky turned into layers of gold, rose, and deepening blue. The lake mirrored it all, giving us this surreal, glowing backdrop. It wasn’t just pretty—it felt mystical, like the kind of light that only exists for a few rare minutes before fading into night.
The Energy
Every pose was deliberate: rooted, commanding, yet graceful. The stillness of the water, the strength in her expression, the movement of the dress—they worked together to create portraits that carry a quiet intensity. Not fragile, not fleeting—timeless.
The Final Images
The gallery feels powerful and dreamlike at the same time. Soft tones, yes, but with an edge—portraits that don’t just capture beauty, they command attention. She doesn’t look at the camera to please; she looks through it, owning the moment completely.
I love to photograph at sunset and blue hour in Vienna. The lights and colors become so dreamy and magical, the perfect backdrop for glamorous photos. We did a photoshoot with the lovely Alina right at sunset in Vienna and following the blue hour and I absolutely love the results. The combination of sparkling dress with the purple-pink shadows of the lights of the Operahouse at sunset is just perfection. It turned out gorgeous, and here are some of my favorite photos.

There is no other spot in Vienna like the Operahouse – it’s classy, it’s timeless, it’s inspiring, it’s gorgeous. A sunset by the Opera is so dreamy, a client of mine was once so impressed and told me … “The Opera is like a sunset in itself.”
Right around the time of sunset, some magic happens. I don’t know if the building was built that way or if it’s just a coincidence but the lights and colors create a fairytale mood with purple hues and pink shadows it’s just a must in Vienna.
No doubt, one of the most famous spots for photos in Vienna is the view of the Operahouse from the Albertina balcony. For the extra romantic feeling go there about 20 minutes before sunset to still have enough time to enjoy it and catch the magical hour. In the following 30 minutes after sunset, it’s just so unique.
I was recently reminded of a few photos we took during this time right after New Year’s that I haven’t shared much. I had so many photoshoots there over the holidays that I realized I don’t have any photos of myself so that’s how the idea came. And by the way, I am totally loving the color combo of my outfit and the background – pink and silver always work.
It’s that magical time of the year again. I don’t mean Christmas time, I mean the season when magnolias trees bloom. I wasn’t always aware of the extreme beauty of these flowers, nor their photogenic qualities, but once I discovered them, they are a must-do photo theme in spring. I love everything about spring in Vienna, but the magnolias are something special.
We decided to do a fairy-themed photoshoot with soft, pink professional makeup and a tulle dress for that extra wow effect. Go check out my posts on IG @just_addsparkles to discover the team behind the photoshoot.
Here are my favorite, dreamy captures from the photoshoot.
Autumn is such a beautiful time with its colorful leaves, warm sunset light, and cozy atmosphere. From mid-September to the end of November we enjoy the best of this season. Now with the temperatures dropping and the first snow at our doorsteps, the autumn foliage season is coming to an end and I felt the best way to celebrate it is by taking some dreamy, vineyard pictures. I adore that moody atmosphere, the colors, the light, all of it. Enjoying the last days of November with nature walks, hot tea, and cozy evenings I feel I am all ready to move to a Christmas mood.
